I'm having difficulty recognising the fly figured on the cover of the Cat?logo de los Diptera de Espa?a, Portugal y Andorra. Can anyone help me? Edited by Tony Irwin on 02-08-2008 11:29 Tony ---------- Tony Irwin |

Inside it is clarified: this is a composite of Tipula maxima (head), Rhagio scolopaceus (thorax), Cylindromyia brassicara (abdomen), Bibio marci (forelegs), Asilus crabroniformis (midlegs) and Micropeza corrigiolata (hindlegs). Personally, I think it's ugly (and pointless) |

Ah! But one of these days something like this will fall into one of your water traps.... (Thanks for the clarification, Phil - I couldn't place the legs, but I got the rest right!) Tony ---------- Tony Irwin |
