Is this fly Malacomyia sciomyzina, Heterocheila buccata or something else ?
Mouth edge is projecting, there are meral setulae, no costal break, only lower calypter slightly developped.
According Seguy's keys, it might be Malacomyia sciomyzina, but I don't know this fly.
Sorry for the bad quality of the photo.

Can you take a photo of the other side, so that we can have a good view of the katepisternum (=sternopleuron)? The shape of the upper suture and the anterodorsal inclination of the katepisternal bristle are characteristic in Coelopidae.

Well, I think it looks good for Coelopidae - so I think this is Malacomyia. Cool

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
