5 Grasshoppers

These grasshoppers and a 'skin' I found in the South of France (Languedoc-Roussillon).
Could somebody help me with the identification?


1. Rhacocleis sp.?

lol. the last one IS NOT grasshoper! Empusa pennata is a mantid. It belongs to the Mantodea order, Empusidae family. Wink It is not an Orthoptera Pfft

2. Looks like Anacridium aegyptium.
3. Pezotettix giornai.
4. NOT an Sphingonotus. This is Oedipoda caerulescens (or maybe germanica, but in my zone germanica is extremely rare). Do you remember if do you saw this red or blue when it was flying?
5. Yes, Jorge have the same species in his avatar. In Portugal, Spain and Belgium is unmistakable. In South-East Europe can be mistaked by other two species of the genus: E. fasciata and E. fasciipennis.

Most of them had blue wings, some of them were reddish.
I can't remember which colour the one on the photo had.
So I'll keep it on Oedipoda sp.

Jorge: never a female! Your nymph of Empusa is clearly a male.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
