Hello Bruce, This is a species of Suillia, family Heleomyzidae. They are found on many kinds of decaying organic matter, both of plants and animals. So you can find them near compost, rotting fungi, dung, carrion, etc. Paul - - - - Paul Beuk on https://diptera.info |
