Hi Susan. I think it is Pollenia sp., Calliphoridae. Few red hairs on thorax, but chess-like colour of abdomen and venation... Nikita Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |

Nikita's analysis in spot-on. Some Pollenia specimens have very few curly hairs on the mesonotum but some are always present on the pleurae.
