Small Tachina?
Robert Heemskerk
hello Flyforum,

The wheater was bad, it was nice to watch some moths.. and just when I wanted to go home I saw this tiny fly... It tooks my attention with it's white lines in it's face and on the side of the abdomen.
Looking better it looks like Tachina to me!
Is it realy?

- some moments are almost perfect to me.. -

Size: 6-7 mm
place: Amsterdam Woodforest
wheater: rain, temperature under 18 degrees.
sitting on: stinging nettle

greeting robert,

Hello,

I think it's perhaps a Miltogramminae, Metopia sp, m?le.

Bob is quite right.

It is a male Metopia.
The most likely speices is M. argyrocephala (it might just be tshernovae, which is rare indeed).

Thank you, Louis, Bob and Theo for your reaction.
This fly is new for me, and so is it's family.
I can say that this is a nice introduction to the Metopia sp. for me! Smile

greeting Robert,
