Another fly, which will be very difficult, but who knows. The legs are relatively long and dark black, maybe this is helpful.

So we have three sternopleural bristles. One anterodorsal ?and one posterodorsal? (not quite sure of the placement here) on the mid tibia. Good thoracic characters and those yellow wing bases. Looks like one to check against reference material. We'll see Robert

Well this was a relatively odd looking fly, a relatively distinct member of the otherwise relatively uniform Calyptrata.By the way, would this be an Anthomyiid or a Muscid?

My guess is Hydrophoria lancifer (Anthomyiidae). To be confirmed...

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
