The fly below was around 5-7mm long on a spider lily leaf. Pictured in Dar es Salaam. Can anyone ID please.

Yes, a syrphid.
A female Eumerus sp., but it will be very difficult to get to species, it's a difficult genus, especially from Africa!

Females eyes are placed further apart. Males eyes almost touch each other in the middle.

The round abdomen and the yellow hairs around the scutellum are typical for E. feae. But there are several species in this group and only the males can be identified and only after the dissection of the genitalia... Nice fly and a great pic!

In my fly scutellum is all dark, but antennae, on the contrary, yellow.
