Diptera larvae in mushroom, Hungary
pwalter
Hi, are these larvae or pupae? Small, 'round 3 mm. On tree trunk, forest, June, E-Hungary.

The purplish things are springtails (collembola). No idea about the lighter things though.

Yes, those are probably Hypogasturidae. I collected these larvae-things also but they died.

I'm fairly sure the larvae are Cecidomyiinae - several species feed on fungi, or are predaceous. These might be either.

Very difficult and sometimes impossible to say from photo. They don"t look like Cecidomyiidae. The second larva has something strange in the upper part - possible legs? If not - resembles Platypesidae??

I' will look for them again this year, and make better photos. Thanks!

Could be Platypezidae, try to make a better photo. Michal
