Dasysyrphus? (02.05.09) --> Parasyrphus vittiger
Juergen Peters
Hello!

A rather small one (6-7 mm) from beech forest border (northwest Germany). Perhaps Dasysyrphus cf. venustus female?

Parasyrphus species. It looks as if it has yellow bands on the abdomen, so it might be P annulatus?

Thanks, Nigel! Was really rather small for a Dasysyrphus.
Best regards,
Jürgen

No, this is not annulatus. Annulatus has yellow front and middle tarsae/tibia. This should be vittiger.
