Beetle with short elytra, Hungary, May

Hi, this beetle resembles Oedemeridae a bit but it's only 3 mm long. Im forest. Thanks for any help!

C'est bien un Malthodes, j'en ai quelques uns qui présentent une texture d'élytres comme ça.
Beaucoup n'ont pas de taches claires à l'extrémité des élytres, comme Malthodes holdhausi, qui a la même coloration que celui de la photo :

Cependant les Malthodes ne s'identifient qu'avec les genitalia mâles (c'est d'ailleurs assez caractéristique), et je ne connais pas de clés pour les femelles !

Thank You, I guess it means it is Malthodes holdhausi but only genital examination would make it sure. I speak only german and english Smile

Species within the generea of Malthodes and Malthinus are generally undeterminable from photos.

"It is well Malthodes, I have of them some which has a texture of élytres like that.
Many does not have clear spots at the end of the élytres, like Malthodes holdhausi, which has same colouring as that of the photograph:

However Malthodes are identified only with the male genitalia (it is rather characteristic besides), and I do not know keys for the females! "

Thanks for all the infos. I do have tried genital examinations of male beetles, so far only Carabidae and Staphylinidae. I just leve this one as Malthodes sp.
