which Lestes? L. dryas / sponsa
jaurinum
Hello,
I think it is a Lestes sp. but I don't know which one.
Is it identifiable?
Thanks for any help.

What about Lestes virens? Unfortunately the back of the head is not clearly seen, it should show a sharply bordered lower yellow part. The dark wing spot with white borders is found, however, in the species.

Thank you for the help, Sundew.

Yes, the picture is not the best for correct id.. I have got another pic, but it is not shows the important part of the head, too.
For the next time I will be more clever.
Greetings,
David

This is either L. dryas or L. sponsa. The amount of blue pruinescence on the second abdominal segment might suggest dryas, but sponsa can show a similar pattern when the pruinescence is first developing. The apparently fairly short pterostigma also points towards dryas, but a shot which clearly shows the inferior anal appendages needed to confirm the ID.

L. virens would not have any blue on the first two abdomenal segments, + the yellow on the back of the head should be visible in the first shot.
