Hymenopteran with passengers > Polyblastus sp. [P-N Libert]
Stephen R
What's going on here? The bee was apparently trying to kick off these larvae.

I Concur, but also resemble that remark...Grin
We are not called Sclaterscraes for nothing Stephen.
But at least we know, and are honest about it. Pfft.
I think you should receive the Grin Ewan Kerr Award Grin for services to Sclaterscraes.

Bravo

Forget the nominated bit....you are the winner of the Ewan Kerr Award for 2009....I have held the title for more years than I care to remember.
I shall be doing my utmost to regain the title in 2010, (actually I won't have to try too hard).

Things can only get better.

This Ichneumonidae is a Tryphoninae of the genus Polyblastus. What you see as larvae are in fact eggs of the specimen.

Ah, thank you very much Pierre-Nicholas! Another dent in my ignoranceSmile

I am so pleased that this thread has reappeared as it gives me the chance to invite everyone to the Ceremony for; THE EWAN KERR AWARD won this year by Stephen R. for services to Sclaterscraes everywhere. After scouring the Planet for a suitable Venue for this prestigious award, events in the last few days have presented me with the perfect venue.
I speak of course about the site of the
Marc Pollet Memorial Stone near Copenhagen, Denmark. The Award will be presented by myself as the previous holder. Music will be provided by the Massed Pipes and Drums of the Diptera.info Big Band with their rendition of that very stirring song "Hello Dolly" as the Award is presented.
The date of the Ceremony has yet to be decided, you will be notified. Formal Attire only please.
Roger (Ex Title Holder)

Stephen R
Modesty forbids me to accept this award, as I am clearly less qualified than the present holder. Moreover I do not possess the requisite formal sun hat, kneepads and collecting net.

Stephen.

lagura
Hmm, Roger, shouldn't the song be "Helo Doli"? Grin
