Hylemyia?!
Nikita Vikhrev
Moscow region, 12 july, 7-9mm.
Sitting in tree shadow I profited absence of too hot sun, but had nothing interesting around.
Having nothing better to do, I made photo of female Athomyiidae and collected fly than.
Today evening I tried to key fly using kindly presented me by Andrey Ozerov key by Suwa and Darvas.
To my grate astonishment I discovered nothig impossible in this task.
After very unfriendly Russian keys, western keys with a lot of illustrations and explanations are realy simple.
Even if it is not Hylemyia (in which I'm 90% sure), the Anthomyiidae-fobia do not exist anymore in my mind!

It seems that Hylemya isn't correct. There are setas on ventral surface of C (on left wing badly visible, on right one clear).
So, now I think it is Fucellia. According old key Fucellia tergina which has yellow t, without av at t2 in compare with Fucellia fucorum, present in Netherland'schecklist (to my grate astonishment there isn't genus Fucellia at all in Czech... checklist).

Once a week I come back to this fly. Especialy, as I clearly felt deeply in heart it is not Fucellia.
My current result - Zaphne (frontata?).

Hi Nikita
Not surpising to hear that there are no Fucellia in Czech list. The species are all coastal (to my knowledge), the maggots feed in heaps of washed-up seaweed. As to whether this is Zaphne - well, it's a female, and you have the specimen. She's all yours! Wink
