Riponnensia splendens?
blowave
Hello, (changed the title)

Taken on 16th June 2009. Two pics only, feeding on a large Viburnum I think, next to a roadside drain a few miles south of Lincoln UK.

We only have two species, the other L. tarsata which is apparently scarce, but some records not very far from me and it is said they could be under recorded. I have a lot of Iris and Typha in the roadside drain along the front of my garden which is nor far from the shrub. I don't know what separates the two, although I see the male of L. tarsata has brown on the front tarsi.

Is it possible to say which this is?

Can anyone tell me what the differences are between L. metallina and L. tarsata?

I have scoured the internet but only found the one male of L. tarsata.Frown

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
