It's an ichneumon wasp of some kind ... possibly family Ichneumonidae. But they are a very difficult group of insects to identify because so many look very similar and any literature is very hard to find and often out of date.

We can say that it is a female (ovipositor present) and the subfamily could be Pimplinae.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
