Dear Dysmachus, Thank You really much for the recent Asilid IDs. What may I do with the collected speccimens? Does a closer view of male terminalia hlp further ID? Or should the genitalia be dissected?

Regards, Walter

You will have access to the species list by using the catalogue on http://www.geller...pecies.htm (Hungary = /H/ - type it in the query form for distribution). Only two species of the Neomochtherus group are known: Aneomochtherus flavicornis and Aneomochtherus flavipes. But several other species can be distributed in Hungary, too.

I offer a copy of Tsacas' paper on the genus Neomochtherus on the following link as PDF for one week: http://www.geller...Tsacas.pdf. Tsacas is starting his key by asking the colour of the thrid antennal segmant (postpedicel) - which is often lacking. Nevertheless you have to check the genitalia, which are figured in this work.

All the best
