Hi...My ignorance is greater  , but it is a Hoverfly.I think it is a Female Eristalinus aeneus, but I could be wrong. (AGAIN) . |

Very grateful for your response. Other views that have given me also agree with your proposal. Though some also point to the possibility of "Eristalis sepulchralis.
