I wouldn't usually bother you good people with a moth - but this one is beyond me. I'm fairly sure it's Pyralidae and I've checked the books and looked at photos of all? the UK spp. The nearest I can find is Aglossa but it doesn't seem a good match, and it shouldn't be around in March. I doubt this is Pyralidae. I think this moth belongs to more primitive family, possibly around Psychidae.

Thanks for your help, but I think I've found it - Diurnea fagella - Oecophoridae. I should have known this, even photographed it before, but this one is rather a dark specimen. Tim |
