.....and shape of the thoracic horn. If there are spines present at the lateral side of the last abdominal segment then Anopheles spec. If the thoracic horn is long and slender than Culex. If not than Aedes or Culiseta. Generally Aedes breeds in temporary habitats (forest pools), while Culiseta breeds in permant waterbodies.

I'll predict Aedes cinereus will hatch from this pupa - based on what I can see in your excellent photos, though not all the characters are clear!

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
