Tentatively syrphid I suppose... in fact similar to an image of Eumerus sabulonum that I've posted last year. Hopefully not the same again!

Can be identified?
Thanks

Eumerus, but I don't know which one.

Hi Isidro
If you check how many threads go unanswered, there are 79 Pages of 20 per page, exluding the threads where one replies to ones own thread with a reply with another photo. We all have threads that go unanswered...that's life.
I've looked at your fly and comparing it to photo's in the Gallery (not very scientific), the wing pattern seems a good match to T.neesii, unfortunately the colour of the front femur is too light..Frown Maybe give it a punt for the umpteenth time...Valery might have missed it on the other occasions

Regards Roger

Thanks Roger, yes I know that unanswered post are normal, but until now I never had one in Tephritidae because Valery is an amazing expert and let all of them identified. And as I uploaded the post various times and even tell directly to Valery after seeing that the thread go down quickly again, I supposed that this one was impossible to ID Smile

Well, about the syrphid: T. neesii? Which genus is it? Do you mean E. neesii? (from Eumerus)
Thanks a lot,
Isidro

Roger Thomason
As ol' Frank Zappa himself might have said.."Zoot Allures" Isidro awkwardawkward, the fly I was referring to was the one you were saying you couldn't get ID'd by Valery.
I thought it looked like T.neesii....Tephritis neesii.

Regards Roger.....Remaining Cool

Isidro
Ahhhh thanks!!!!!
I will put that name then Smile

Isidro
And about this syrphid, nobody can go to species?

Isidro
Impossible then?

Andre
No, it is not possible to come to a certain ID. This can be sabulonum, but also E. grandis for example.
