Some kind of small Wasp?

I found this dead on the windowsill last night and got off a couple of shots before turning in.
I'm guessing some kind of wasp?

Thanks Paul, now I know that they are often caled Icneumon Wasps but is that just a euphemism or are they actually wasps?

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
