Yes, mutabilis would be a good option, but there is another species (M. myrmicae) which cannot be separated from this species, even with the specimen in hand. It can only be identified in the pupal stage! So for this one the correct name would be Microdon mutabilis/ myrmicae! Greetings Greetings, Gerard Pennards |
