hello flyforum, I have studied this fly, in spite of the picture's quality.. And I think this is a Rhinophoridae sp. The fly is quite dark, also some wingparts. I can not see a plumo arista, but it must have hairs.. The border of the wing is a bit hairy, also the chin got long hairs. (on the top of the head very long hair) Strange that M1 vein almost meets the outer vein of the wing!! There are some dark parts in the wing, like r1 (=grey) Is this a Rhinophoridae sp.? of is it Calliphoridae? regards, robert heemskerk Edited by Robert Heemskerk on 27-08-2006 09:27 |
