Culicidae sp

From midwest Sweden 2006-05-26. Wings not longer than abdomen fits Chaoboridae, but the antenna doesn't quite look like the other. Not long enough front legs for a Chironomidae. Is it perhaps Culicidae? Mysterious antenna on this one ... Sorry 'bout the quality.

Edit: Changed subject (Chaoboridae?)

With such a long proboscis: Culicidae without doubt. Smile

Ok, thnx. Does both male and female have those snouts (proboscis)?

The long, feathery mouthparts are typical of male Culicidae. The female mouthparts are as long, but simpler (and much more painful!)
The antennae are very bushy (another indication of a male), but in this case the antennal hairs are folded forwards. In Culicidae and Ceratopogonidae, the bushy antennae are often of this form.
