I photographed this fly yesterday near Chicago IL USA. About 10 mm long. White hairy fringe along sides of abdomen. Anyone? Thanks! ~ Bruce |

It is a bombyliid, a bee fly. I will try to dig up some more tomorrow.

The only genus I can find that matches all the characters I can see in the picture is Aldrichia. Unfortunately, I cannot find any pictures of it here.
