so, this does not seem to be wery rare (if it is the same species at all). Another one a couple of km away. Magnification: you can se how red/purple becomes more red on bottom side of bug.

I think your first one is a late instar nymph of Dolycoris baccarum, the Sloe Bug. The body does look a little bright but the shapes, and the head do seem to fit, it has a jewel effect on the head.

The second one I think is a mid instar nymph of Eurygaster testudinaria the Tortoise Bug.

I suspect that neither of these nymphs are British species, but can't really help you any further. The first image MIGHT be Piezodorus lituratus if found on or near gorse or broom.

Tristan, I agree there are other species which are likely to be in Slovenia that we do not have, however there are many which are the same.

I had a site in my favourites which lists bugs of Slovenia, I had forgotten about it! This might be of future help..
