Hello! I have got 2 photos of two different flies, which were 10 mm long and taken in South Tirole, Austria. Fly 1:  Fly 2:  Can you say me the species or the genus names of these flies? Thank you very much, Martin... |

Well, you may give us some time, especially over the weekend.  The first I think is a Muscidae, but hopefully someone with more knowledge of Calyptrates will come by a add his/her comment (Kahis?). The second (I thought there was a different picture first, but I am not certain) makes me think of Rhigia campestris. I hope one of the true syrphidologists will confirm this.
