Hello! Is this fly with the protruding proboscis a Stomoxys calcitrans? Found yesterday at our house (Germany). Size like a normal house fly. Thanks in advance! Hello, Tony and Xespok! Thanks for your confirmation! It's not so easy if you don't know, whether there are other flies in the so many. many diptera families with such a long proboscis ;-) (which could also be used for other things than sucking blood...).
