Hi dear all, I found this Asilid flies on a warm edge of the forest close to meadow taken a sunbath. Is Tolmerus the right genus and maybe then T. atricapillus is the right species? Size: ~10-12mm, Location: Germany, Lower Saxony, Göttingen, Kerstlingeröder Feld, 04.10.10 Thanks for any suggestions, Christian Edited by ChristianL on 05-10-2010 10:53 |

Hi Christian, yes, this is a Tolmerus spec. Unfortunately there is no further 100 % ID possible, because the ventral side of the male's abdomen is not visible. Most likely it is T. atricapillus. Do you have another picture more from lateral view? Greetings, Danny Wolff |

Hi Danny, thanks for your reply. No, unfortunately I have no lateral view. So I have to live with Tolmerus cf. atricapillus ;-) Cheers, Christian |
