March Fly?

Bear with me, gentlemen. I just shot these flies in the woods near my house. I believe they are male and female, but not sure which. One has VERY hairy legs - I've never seen anything like these. LOVE those red eyes! I have 3 images to show you, but many more I'll post on my web site forthwith.

To show attachments in preview, the attachment would have to be uploaded already. The developers assess that as risky, because someone might flood the server by continuously hitting the preview button.

As to your fly, I think it is the dance fly Rhamphomyia longicauda Empididae). You can find quite a lot on this beasty on the net. A number of papers has been published about it's mating behaviour and BugGuide recently also had a number of pictures attributed to this species.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
