I took this photo today - 11th October 2006 - a Chrysomelidae beetle, I think...


ID please. Thank you!

any hint to very tiny thing behind beetle? Smile

Certainly a chrysomelid. If you know the plant it was on it might facilitate identification. And the tiny thing behind it might just be a beetle turd.

I think it's a Chrysolina species, possibly C. oricalcia. But I don't know whether there are additional similar species in Portugal, so let's wait for the specialists.

thanks Paul. I don?t know the plant. In truth, I didn?t care about the plant.. when I saw this little beetle.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
