Hi Frank, The only Terellia I know that has been reared from Onopordum is T. lappae, but that ine has a more or less distinct wingpattern. And judging from the female this one has hardly any. In which case you come to the Terellia serratulae-complex, which is complex to identify. Judging by the length of the oviscapus, it will run to T. serratulae. Cheers, John |

Thank you very much, John. This location is near to Italy. Only four kilometers away (you can say on the boundary stone) I found two Coranus species (Het.) which would have been new for Central Europe. Terellia serratulae seems to be a rare species - or are there only no photos and species lists in the www? Greetings Frank |

Hi Frank, I think there just are very few pictures on the www, for it's not that rare. Besides it may be a little too small for some photographers. Cheers, John |
