Hi Frank,

The only Terellia I know that has been reared from Onopordum is T. lappae, but that ine has a more or less distinct wingpattern. And judging from the female this one has hardly any. In which case you come to the Terellia serratulae-complex, which is complex to identify. Judging by the length of the oviscapus, it will run to T. serratulae.

Cheers,

John

Thank you very much, John. This location is near to Italy. Only four kilometers away (you can say on the boundary stone) I found two Coranus species (Het.) which would have been new for Central Europe. Terellia serratulae seems to be a rare species - or are there only no photos and species lists in the www? Greetings Frank

Hi Frank,

I think there just are very few pictures on the www, for it's not that rare. Besides it may be a little too small for some photographers.

Cheers,

John
