Hello dipterafriends, I also have an not identified yellow fly. Two of them where sitting on and near a rotted banana hanging in a tree in my garden in Norderstedt, near Hamburg, Germany ( it was smelling intensiv sweet and unpleasant ). They where about 10 mm big and lazy. I showed the fly on Insektenfotos.de but nobody was shure about the full name. Is it possible to get help here?

Hi Nikita, with your help I could see now some more photos from S. suilla and I also think, that this is my fly. Do you think that I need a cf. between Scathophaga and suilla? Thank you for all

Kristen, I would like to know answer myself. I understood cf as: There is, for example fly Xxx yyy, then one discovers that it is realy group of related species - Xxx yyy, X. yyy1, X. yyy2. It is just a bit more definite than a Genus sp., which means: any species of the given genus possible.
