 Fly from caves 9 - Lonchaeidae

Hello everyone, here comes one more fly caught in a cave in Germany in May 2005. Size around 5mm. Looks a bit Muscidae-like to me. Any other suggestions? Edited by Andrius on 17-06-2011 08:06 |

yes Lonchaeidae - I think I can see only 4 setae on the scutellum(with no additional hairs) and from what I can see of the slightly hazy genitalia photo it looks like Protearomyia - there is only 1 species in western europe - P. nigra. see http://lonchaeidae.myspecies.info/genus-protearomyia
