Hello Last week i found this pupa at Lupinus spec.. Locality is Bexbach/Germany. Perhaps is it Asphondylia lupini ? The answer of a user from another forum: "Dear Volker Marcela Skuhrava has now commented on your gall midge on Lupinus. She agrees that it is most likely to be Asphondylia lupini and she says that she has no records of this species other than the original record of Silvestri published in 1908. He gave an account of this species as a pest of Lupinus alba in southern Italy, Naples Province (near Mount Vesuvius). It seems that the species has not been recorded for over a hundred years and has not been recorded from any country other than Italy. So it will be a new record for Germany. It would therefore be worth studying it in greater detail and you should certainly try to obtain voucher specimens to support your record. Contact me if I may be of further assistance." What is your opinion? Thanks Volker Pictures are clickable --> |
