Ty Toni! I know why: All my alpine photo records belong to Anthomyiidae Wink From the Alps I have allways specimen in ethanol, but I heard, there is no id chance without males ...

With most anthomyiid females an expert (not me! Smile) can tell what genus they are in, but for many species the mating couples or reared series are not available yet, so we cannot say which species the females represent (though there are keys to females in some genera). In time, I am sure we will find good characters for the females too, but for now it is easier to look for males!

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
