Hi, I think my sight's no good, I see it holoptic. All keys giev more importance to the eyes than to the colour of the abdomen (excepting E. megacephalus). This one's abdomen fits E. sepulchralis, but though I looked at it many times I still see it holoptic (and then E. aeneus). The picture was taken in Balearic Islands (both species recorded there) 30. april Any help? Thanks in advance |

This is Eristalis sepulchralis male. E.g. the matt patches on the abdomen are quite clear to see on this picture. |
