Hello I've have identified this hymenopter as Pimpla sp. perheaps Pimpla rufipes (= hypocondriaca, = instigator) : length 14 mm, antenna 12 mm, terebra 4 mm, all black and legs red Photo taken in NE of France, in september 2006 Is it really ? Thank you Louis |

Hi Louis ... keying it roughly from the photo it looks like a typical Pimpla spp. (all black body, orange legs, areolet, 'erect' ovipositor) ![]() |

Looks like Pimpla to me too though I have a bad track record in Pimplinae recently![]() ![]() Recommended resource ![]() ![]() http://cse.naro.a...shi/types/ In Japanese but going to the dropdown menu in the bottom box gets to the subfamilies and on to many genera and excellent photos.
