Hi trying to "iD" different Eristalis, to look after the right details I would be very happy If anybody could control my tries. Confirm or adjust. According to result of this tries, if well done, I can feel more sure in future for own Eristalis ID's in some clear cases. Thanks a lot! Brigitte E. arbustorum: Date and ID is noted direct on photos. Edited by brigitteu on 08-10-2011 13:17 |

Brigitte, so funny! I am doing exactly the same with my pictures!! That means you have here another amateur fighting hardly with the little creatures! ![]() To me this is crearly Eristalis arbustorum. Short hairy aristas, very pace face, the stigma in the right position and general aspect fits to perfection. I guess the experts can add more reliable features and learn a bit more ![]() |

Thanks at both of you! E.arbustorum is really a small "sweet" one :-) Is the form and position of the stigma such a confident attibute? Are there no variations in same species? |
