From midwest Sweden 2006-07-09 (YYYY-MM-DD). An exceptional long-legged fly parked on my car. Probably a Sarcophagid.

I might be completely wrong .. but I think this is a tachind, perhaps Dinera, or something like that.

Probably Dexia - ridge between the antennae and the excavation extends to the poterior margin of T1+2. Smile

but then again, Tony might be wrong.

It's a male of Dinera ferina, unmistakable by the very long legs.
Females are less extreme.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
