Syrphinae: Allograpta?
marcaumarc
I have a few photos of this species from St. Martin (Sint Maarten) in the Lesser Antilles. This one was in a forested area, but they can also be seen in other habitats. I often use the listing of known insects in the US Virgin Islands because it is a pretty extensive list. They show seven species of Mesograpta, of which it seems some or most are now called Toxomerus, but out of the ones I've been able to see online I haven't found a good match.

Thanks in advance for any help with the ID!

Thanks Martin! I looked back at the US Virgin Islands database and found that their Allograpta included two junior synonyms, leaving the species A. radiata and A. limbata. I found a photo of radiata, and it looks close, but not exactly the same. Of course, it also could be something not in their database.
