This pupa has remarkable spiny appearance. The abdomen has some long spines and de anal segment has a pair of long spiny anal lobes. It resembles the pupa of a Probezzia species as depicted in Thomson (1937). Aquatic diptera Part V. Ceratopogonidae, memoirs 210 and perhaps even a Bezzia species as depicted in Tsalolikin (1999). keys to the freshwater invertebrates of Russia. Can anybody give me some ID on genus level? It has been collected in a freshwater small canal at Oud-Alblas, a low-land peaty area in the Southwestern part of The Netherlands at 26.vii.2011. Edited by atylotus on 23-01-2012 13:08 |
