Hello! Is this 5-6 mm fly a Heleomyzidae (Tephrochlamys?), too? Also found on Dec-03 in Ostwestfalen/Germany in our garden. Thanks! Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

Hi Juergen. It isn't Heleomyzidae, but Calyptrate fly. My guess is Scathophaga (suilla?). Nikita Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |

But then the blueish thorax and the relatively small size let me think of Tephrochlamys.
