Desmometopa sp (Milichiidae)
crex
Another bad old photo. From midwest Sweden 2001-JUL-13. I'm pretty lost here ... could it be a Sphaeroceridae sp? First I thought Ephydridae or Lonchaeidae, but the long arista seems to be common among the Sphaeroceridae so that would be my guess ...

Edit: Changed subject (Sphaeroceridae sp?)

Kahis
Desmometopa (Milichiidae)! See http://www.sel.ba...desmo.html for an introduction to the genus. The grey stripes on an otherwise deep black from are a good 'field' character for this genus.

One of the common NW European species is Desmometope m-nigrum. That means the Desmometope-with-the-black-M (clearly visible of the frons).
