Opomyza florum
ChasMacey
Hi,

I have attached a couple of photos taken on the 24th August 2006 in my garden in Surrey, Southern England, on Crocosmia, in a shady flower border close to a little pond. Once again I failed to record the size but I estimate it being 10 - 12mm in length.

Having gone through the gallery the best guess I can see for it is Opomyza florum is it possible to confirm this or the family please ?

thanks Chas

I think this is O. florum, but the size must be much smaller than 1o-12mm. But you should wait for J. Willem to be absolutely sure.

Thanks both, I must have the size completely wrong, as I said I didn't record it at the time, I had tried to estimate it from the size of the grain running down the leaf in first picture as I still had some of the plant available in the Garden - and got it completely wrong.

Thanks again

Chas

Hi Chas,

This is indeed Opomyza florum, and yes, you must have the size wrong Wink.

Hi Jan,

Thank you for the confirmation. - I must get into the habit of recording that info at the time I take the photo.
