Hi Nikita, You can name this Geomyza tripunctata (a male). More to the south this species is often more reddish (orange if you like). It seems to be a wellknown phenomenon in all kind of species that in warmer climates species become more reddish. Or did you collect this specimen on a higher altitude (i.e. colder climate)? Hi Nikita, Well, I would not exactly call it a rule, but the percentage of reddish specimens of G. tripunctata is much higher in the south then in the north. By the way, a very nice photo again! Jan Willem |
