Spider from NE Turkey > Eresidae
Cesa
Hello,
This rather big and stout, aggressive spider (ca 2cm, when walking; body 15mm) from NE Turkey. Its ID very much appreciated. Muhabbet

Agresive, you mean jumps (that ia move fast forward and backward) ? Salticidae I think.

thank you Bubikol! Body shape somewhat similar to Salticidae but this is unusually (for me) large and eyes very small.

Looks realy, they are small, bud everything hidden in dark. Try to applay fill light, at least that can be done on nikon NEF format. That will not produce good photo, but it will at least reveal things.

That is in PS i would do less exposure + some fill light on your photo.

Not an expert but I think body shape is less important than way they move, see this for example:

10 mm, elongated.

Eresidae

Cesa
Many thanks Akai! I agree with you. In Turkey this family is represented by a single species. Eresus lavroisae was described by Mcheidze in 1997 but I couldnot find its description where published. Have you information about it?

Hmm, I don't know any information about it, but try to ask here:
http://spinnen-forum.de/smf/index.php?board=4.0

It seems to be interesting. Why it is a single specie in Turkey?
According the World Spiders Catalog: http://research.a...SIDAE.html and this site: http://www.aranea...rt_det.php E. lavrosiae was found only in Georgia. There are a few other species for Turkey, like E.kollari, Stegodyphus lineatus and a few more.
