Hello, Robert!

Yes, this is Dicyrtomina ornata. I have found those beautiful little critters often here in northwest Germany in the last weeks, and they were confirmed my Collembola specialist Frans Janssens (www.collembola.org) as D. ornata. I'm pretty sure, they will also occur in the Netherlands.

Hi J?rgen, Smile

Thanks a lot!, you are sure it is not: Dicyrtomina minuta or Dicyrtomina saundersi ?

D. saundersi is not so colourfully ornamented as ornata (name!) and minuta is mainly yellow with a small blue spot on the end of the abdomen. Nevertheless: some experts think all three are only colour variants of the same species (http://www.steveh.../374DMmin/).
Best regards,
Jürgen
