Calliphora sp.
Robert Heemskerk
Hi flyforum,

This Calliphora looks a bit like Calliphora vomitoria but I can not find any reddish beard..
And the colour of the eyes? Isn't it too much traffic-red?
The basicosta seems pale to me.., cheeks grey/black..

Nice to hear your comment Wink

Hi Robert.
Early spring Calliphoridae of size smaller than "normal" Calliphora, with reddish eyes and not very sharp curved M may belongs to genus Melinda.

Nikita is right.
In 'all' Calliphora (high mountain and boreal species excluded) the lower calyptra is distinctly darkened. If it's not, it should be Melinda.

Thank you Nikita and Theo,

on picture 2, I see a calyptra which is white but I don't know if this is the lower calyptra?

If it is, then this is:
Melinda gentilis or Melinda viridicyanea isn't it?

Only to identify by genitalis?
